The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a dedicated part-time Clinical Therapist to join the UCLA Student Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Program. This program is designed to provide comprehensive and compassionate medication management and therapy services specifically tailored for UCLA students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). As a Clinical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients who present with high acuity or chronic mental health issues, ensuring they receive the necessary support and treatment to manage their conditions effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting clinical evaluations of new patients, assessing their suitability for outpatient therapeutic care, and determining the need for additional mental health services. You will provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapeutic treatment, formulating treatment plans that may include therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to outside resources or specialists. Your expertise in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), or psychotherapy, will be crucial in delivering effective treatment. Additionally, you will maintain detailed and accurate clinical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with UCLA's standards. You will also provide consultation to peer clinicians or specific treatment teams, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment. This position offers a competitive salary range of $31.03/hr to $65.90/hr, reflecting the importance of the role in supporting the mental health of UCLA students.
