About The Position

As a representative of the Office of Admission, you are viewed as a role model both in and out of the classroom. Gold Ambassadors are expected to be role models at all times, both on and off campus. This includes adhering to all laws and campus policies and conducting oneself in a way that is in line with the mission of the college and the admission office. It is imperative that Gold Ambassadors be sensitive to the public relations image conveyed to members of the academic community, prospective students, parents, other visitors, and the general public. As a Gold Ambassador you play a key role in supporting recruitment and enrollment efforts. You will assist prospective students and applicants throughout the admissions process, providing guidance, information, and assistance to help them navigate the complexities of college admissions.

Requirements

  • Current full-time student at Ursinus College
  • Must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5
  • Be in good academic and social standing
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Excellent customer service skill
  • Must be available for all mandatory events

Responsibilities

  • When you show up to your shift you are expected to be ready to give a tour and help with anything else that is needed until the end of your shift
  • Other common responsibilities include: assembling informational packets, organizing documents and supplies, performing accurate data entry, restocking inventory, making phone calls, etc.
  • Keep your supervisor informed of all extracurricular and employment responsibilities at the start of the semester
  • Discuss any major extracurricular involvement such as a varsity sport, participation in a student organization, etc., with your supervisor at least two weeks in advance and how this may impact your work schedule in the admission office
  • Must come to all MANDATORY events such as open houses and admitted student’s day
  • Work collaboratively with admissions counselors, staff, and students to coordinate recruitment initiatives, events, and projects
  • Must attend AT LEAST 4 admissions events outside of open houses and admitted student’s day during the school year
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain dress code
  • Find proper coverage for any shift you cannot make at least 4 hours before shift time
  • In event of emergency where coverage cannot be found please call supervisor ASAP
  • Have always at least one person at the front desk
  • Make/answer phone calls when needed
