About The Position

Student Fitness Center Supervisors assist with the daily supervision of the Landon Fitness Center and monitor access to the Landon Fitness Center. In addition, enforce all policies of the Department of Athletics and ensure participants conduct themselves in an orderly manner. The Fitness center supervisor will be required to wear the provided uniform and has to conform to the fitness center policies. The Fitness Center supervisor is required to pay constant attention to the activities in the fitness center, should not use personal laptops, air pods or any other type of device for non-work-related activities that will prevent them paying attention. The position is for currently enrolled Barry University students.

Requirements

The Fitness Center Supervisors are required to write down their hours at the provided time sheet at the front desk and clock in and clock out at the beginning and end of each of their shifts.
In case of malfunctioning of the tracking system or in the case they forgot, the Fitness Supervisor is required to communicate with the Fitness Center Coordinator.
Accredited fitness/exercise certifications and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
The position is for currently enrolled Barry University students.
Juniors and Seniors with relevant working experience might qualify for this position.

Responsibilities

Promote and enforce all fitness room policies.
Have a working knowledge of the use of free weights, cardiovascular, and sectorized machines.
Ensure a safe work out environment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
Be visible on the fitness room floor during shift to answer questions and provide general assistance.
Answer telephones, manage the operation of the front service desk, answering questions, enforcing facility and program policies, conducting ID checks, and distributing information and directions.
Maintain the cleanliness of the facility and the upkeep of the facility program space.
Conduct set-up and breakdown of space as necessary for programs and reservations.
Provide facility tours.
