About The Position

The Student Financial Services Office is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as the initial contact for students and families, providing exceptional customer service and assistance with the financial aid process. This role involves developing a strong understanding of financial aid regulations and procedures, performing operational tasks, and preparing various reports and correspondence related to student financial services.

Requirements

• Associates degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with an online student information system in a college or university setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate in efforts to provide outstanding service to students, parents, and the campus community.
• Greet and guide students and families through the financial aid process, explaining aid programs and eligibility criteria.
• Handle complex financial situations and respond to inquiries regarding billing and financial aid.
• Review applications and documentation to ensure completeness for financial aid processing.
• Answer multi-line phone calls and respond to emails with high-level service.
• Process payments and forms, and manage student account information.
• Assist with the collections process and maintain accurate processing schedules.
• Develop knowledge of financial aid programs and regulations, and direct customers to appropriate campus offices.
• Meet with employees regarding payroll deduction options for student account payments.
• Utilize reporting tools to write necessary reports.
