Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Student financial aid experience, advising students and/or managing student financial aid program(s) at an institution of similar size/type
  • Five to seven years of job-related experience
  • This job requires advanced knowledge of federal student aid programs and the rules and regulations governing financial aid. Working knowledge of financial aid management software and query language scripting are essential skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and enforce complex rules and regulations, and demonstrated management experience are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical and functional tasks required to ensure that OFSA is in compliance with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards including but not limited to the review of every aid applicant and recipient every semester.
  • Manage the Federal Work Study (FWS) Program annual allocation from the US Department of Education, ensuring compliance with the associated Federal regulations as well as all University System of Georgia and Georgia Tech polices related to student employment; including the supervision of the day to day operations of job placements and award/earnings monitoring.
  • Manage the technical and functional tasks required to ensure that OSFA is in compliance with verification and Federal student eligibility requirements, including but not limited to the review of every aid applicant subject to them on an annual basis. Provide training to staff on changes to verification processes and procedures to ensure understanding of and compliance with applicable regulations. Oversee the management of and updates to forms and web content related to verification. Continuously monitor effectiveness of verification processes. Annually, work with the leadership team to assess institutional verification selection policy and manage the annual updates of related components of Campus Logic with the technology team.
  • Represent the unit in meetings and presentations with both internal departments and/or external entities.
  • Prepare reports and manage and analyze data for the unit.
  • Oversee and manage the web content of the unit.
  • Compile and assess customer service survey results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
