About The Position
The Student Finance Officer plays a crucial role in assisting students with their financial aid needs, ensuring they are well-informed and supported throughout the process of applying for grants and loans. This position involves interviewing prospective students to assess their financial needs and eligibility for various forms of financial assistance, particularly focusing on second and third-year students. The officer will provide guidance on financial aid questions, helping students navigate the complexities of financial aid forms and documentation requirements. In addition to direct student interaction, the Student Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate student files to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and institutional policies. This includes documenting data related to financial aid applications, tracking Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs), and completing necessary verifications for selected ISIRs. The officer will also coordinate with veteran students to ensure adherence to Department of Veterans Affairs guidelines and assist in establishing repayment plans for former students with outstanding balances. The role requires a detail-oriented approach to auditing packaged files, ensuring all necessary awards and financial aid forms are present and properly documented. The Student Finance Officer will also communicate with admissions staff regarding student appointments and reschedule as necessary, ensuring a smooth process for all students seeking financial assistance.
