About The Position

Under the direction of the Dodge College director of communications, the Student Features Writer will develop and write well-crafted Dodge College-centric articles that will appear on the Dodge College blog and in a new quarterly alumni newsletter. The writer will also independently develop and pitch new ideas to the director of communications for consideration. The writer may also be asked to write in-depth social media captions and assist in the editing of other captions.

Requirements

• A strong command of English grammar and punctuation
• An attention to detail: spelling, facts, etc.
• An engaging writing style
• The ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Writing and editing compelling, well-crafted stories, the topics of which will include, but are not limited to: student and faculty profiles, master classes, other relevant news/events
• Identifying and interviewing key sources, building relationships within the community, and working closely with the director of communications to refine story ideas and articles
• Participating in editorial meetings and meeting strict publication deadlines
