About The Position

The Texas A&M University Libraries are excited to welcome a Student Engagement Librarian who will help create and support programs that meet the needs of our students, staff, and faculty. In this role, you will work with colleagues across the Libraries to promote our resources and services through creative outreach, programming, and engagement efforts. We are looking for someone who enjoys connecting with the campus community and stays curious about emerging trends in library outreach and student engagement. This is an entry-level position with great opportunities to learn and grow your skillset. The selected candidate will be expected to work on-site at our College Station campus. This is an in-person opportunity. Salary: $62,900.00 annually and a $3,000.00 stipend for professional development

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in library or information science

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school.
  • Experience working in an academic library and supporting outreach, events, or special projects.
  • Familiarity with academic library functions and current trends in library services and outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and campus partners.
  • Strong creative thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks successfully.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage users and colleagues.
  • Confidence in public speaking and representing the Libraries in various settings.
  • Proven initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to work both independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with library and campus partners to design, deliver, assess, and promote programs that support student success.
  • Develop and facilitate student‑focused outreach and engagement activities, including orientations, New Student Conferences, First‑Gen initiatives, Welcome Week events, and end‑of‑semester support.
  • Introduce new and transfer students to library resources and services and help create a welcoming, student‑centered environment.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with academic units, student services, and student organizations to strengthen campus support networks.
  • Work with the Experiential Learning and Engagement team to design, assess, and sustain student‑focused programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental and campus committees, special projects, and cross‑departmental activities supporting student success.
  • Engage in ongoing scholarly and professional development to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services.
  • Support the mission and goals of the Libraries and contribute to initiatives that enhance the student experience.
