About The Position

We believe work should be meaningful and fun. The Student Engagement D.R.E.A.M. (Design, Research, Experience, Analytics, & Media) team is a student-centric marketing team made up of designers, videographers, photographers, project managers, and storytellers who are passionate about creating experiences that connect with students in real ways. Every project we take on is an opportunity to think differently, work together, and make an impact across campus. Position Overview: As a Graphic Designer on the marketing & advertising team, you’ll help shape the visual voice of Student Engagement across campus. From print & digital campaigns to event branding, your work will turn ideas into visuals that capture attention and communicate with purpose. You’ll collaborate with designers, project leads, and project managers to develop creative solutions that support Student Engagement events, social media, and internal initiatives. Whether you’re building a cohesive campaign identity or designing promotional materials, your work will help shape how students experience and engage with our community. We’re looking for someone who is both creative and disciplined. The ideal candidate is someone who can balance originality with strategy and adapt their designs to different audiences and platforms. Requirements

  • Proficient in editing software programs including: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Able to take and receive direction from Student Engagement staff for vision in creating design.
  • Able to work well with others in achieving the common goal of highlighting and marketing Student Engagement events.
  • Must be familiar with print and digital formats (native files, JPG, TIFF, PNG, EPS, PDF, etc).
  • Organized, punctual, creative, and have keen attention to detail.
  • Interest in marketing, student affairs, retail, and/or social media.
  • Provide a portfolio upon request.
  • Must have own computer to do projects on.
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours per week.

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
  • You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Software, including but not limited to: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom etc.
  • Meeting with clients in person or remotely to discuss projects.
  • Weekly meetings with staff to discuss projects in progress.
  • Prepare final digital and print files, as well as deliver completed projects to clients as needed.
  • Maintain an orderly archive of projects and strict schedule for completed tasks as requested by clients.
  • Adhere to Grand Canyon University's branding and style guides.
  • Serve as a department ambassador and promote the department at events and activities.
  • Meet regularly with team members & Art Director to receive feedback/changes, review upcoming events, assignments, and communication strategies.
