About The Position

This role is for a student employee within the Law Admissions Department, combining the responsibilities of a Social Media Assistant and a Student Office Assistant. As a Social Media Assistant, the student will be responsible for planning and creating digital content, including photography and engaging written posts, for Quinnipiac Law School's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn). This involves covering law school events and student life, contributing creative ideas, and collaborating with the Manager of Marketing Communications and the Law Admissions team to schedule content. The student is also expected to proactively contribute photos and posts reflecting law student life and campus scenes. Additionally, in the Student Office Assistant capacity, the student will assist with various administrative duties such as mailings, on-campus programs, calling local businesses for information updates, data entry, market and competitor research, inventory management, shredding, and other projects as needed. Assistance may also be required for other areas, including Financial Aid.

Requirements

  • Solid smartphone photography skills
  • Good writing and communications skills and ability to create engaging content
  • Experience using social media platforms
  • Attention to detail, professional, and willing to take initiative
  • Must be comfortable engaging with students, faculty, and others in order to take photos and gather information for posts while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Requires ability to move throughout the law school and law school grounds in order to cover events and take photos on a weekly basis
  • Must be a Law work-study student only

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and create digital content for the Quinnipiac Law School social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
  • Capture quality photography via their smartphone
  • Write engaging posts about law school events and student life
  • Contribute and execute creative ideas for posts
  • Work with Manager of Marketing Communications and Law Admissions team to identify weekly schedule of events to cover
  • Take initiative to contribute photos and posts for consideration that reflect law student life and law school/campus scenes
  • Assist with various office duties including but not limited to: assisting with mailings and on-campus programs
  • Call local businesses to update information
  • Perform data entry
  • Conduct research, market and competitor research
  • Manage inventory
  • Perform shredding and other projects as needed
  • Provide assistance to other areas including Financial Aid
