The SURP Student Intern is an undergraduate student who has been accepted to the 9-week NIH-funded summer research program titled the UAMS Summer Undergraduate Research Program. Requirements

Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution.
Student must have completed at least one full year of undergraduate studies and have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
Student must be available to work 34 –34.5 hours each week during the 9 weeks of the program.
Student must arrange for transportation to and from UAMS during work hours as required.

Responsibilities

Follow the direction of their assigned UAMS research faculty mentor during the 9-week program.
This will include working on a research project, writing a research paper, and attending required weekly meetings and seminars.
