Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Counselor for the School of Engineering- Academic Affairs. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Promotes and achieves student success by providing comprehensive academic support and retention services to students. Makes timely referrals to appropriate offices. Provides reliable and timely academic advising to undergraduates at the School of Engineering. Maintains student records. Supports scholastic standing reviews. Interacts professionally and compassionately with all undergraduate students, as well as their parents/guardians. Coordinates advising related programming and activities. Establishes effective working relationships with the SoE departments and other campus partners on issues pertaining to academic policies and student advising. Participates in university-wide and school-wide duties and functions such as commencement and graduation convocation, new student onboarding, degree audits, student engagement, recruitment and other special programs or events as assigned. Supports a collaborative, team focused, and positive work environment that is student-centered and passionate about student success.
