About The Position

This position involves acting as an ambassador for the Career and Professional Development (CPD) office, demonstrating and explaining the use of various resources to students. The role includes posting jobs and internships, participating in workshops and events, and supporting unique projects related to career development. The candidate will also assist in data analytics, including the collection and analysis of career-related content.

Requirements

  • People oriented – enjoy helping people both in-person and on the telephone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to show close attention to detail, take initiative, follow directions, meet deadlines, and be creative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
  • Willingness to learn new software and how to use a copier and scanner.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and explain the use of Career and Professional Development resources to other students.
  • Post jobs and internships in Handshake and research to find missing details.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate Career and Professional Development student workshops and events.
  • Perform office procedures such as photocopying, answering phones, assisting walk-ins, and scheduling appointments.
  • Support unique projects which include career-related research and providing materials for staff.
  • Assist in the collection, reporting, and analysis of career-related content.
  • Evaluate and compare large data sets from different sources and create graphics to summarize trends.
  • Scrub and uniformly categorize large data sets from different sources.
  • Utilize online searches to fill data gaps and review/update career website content.
