About The Position

The Student Building Manager at Northern Kentucky University is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Student Union/University Center during evening and weekend shifts. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain leadership experience while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of customers and visitors in the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Supervising experience.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Must be a current student of NKU or an incoming Freshman/Transfer Student.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the Student Union/University Center on weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Oversee all building operations during the shift.
  • Set up tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, and pipe & drapery in conference rooms.
  • Straighten and organize public areas including event spaces.
  • Communicate effectively with professional staff and co-workers.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Enforce department policies and procedures and ensure security of the buildings.
  • Execute emergency plans and supervise student employees in various areas.
