About The Position

Student Automotive Assistants are responsible for providing support with routine tasks within our Automotive Maintenance Facility at Ohio University Transportation & Parking Services. Days/hours for this position will primarily be between Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM. Selected candidates can expect 15 - 25 hours per week depending on class schedule/availability.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must possess strong communication and customer service skills
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be able to use basic computer programs: Word, Excel, Teams, Etc.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to work in conditions that may expose the candidate to heat, cold, rain, snow dirt, and other various conditions associated with an automotive maintenance facility.

Nice To Haves

• Scheduling experience
• Availability to work during summer, winter, and spring break periods

Responsibilities

• Answering phone calls and responding to emails from customers
• Assisting with scheduling service appointments
• Notifying customers of completed service requests
• Communicating with customers regarding upcoming service needs
• Pick up/delivery of parts and materials from local suppliers
• Daily cleanup of automotive work areas
• Other duties as assigned
