About The Position

The Student Athlete Development Coordinator/Assistant Soccer Coach at Western Michigan University is responsible for enhancing the personal and professional development of student-athletes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, Health Care Management, Medical Case Management, or related field.
  • 12 months of experience as an NCAA Soccer Coach.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach seminars on life-skills topics.
  • Provide academic support services to student-athletes.
  • Develop learning initiatives and programs.
  • Oversee community service outreach events for student-athletes.
  • Coordinate marketing initiatives related to the soccer program.
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate personal and professional development programming.
  • Coordinate with the business office and head coach on budget and business operations.
  • Assist with recruiting and teaching soccer skills and team building to student-athletes.
  • Mentor student-athletes in their development.
  • Identify, evaluate, scout, recruit, and interview prospective student-athletes.
  • Prepare players for games and seasons to maximize athletic performance.
  • Maintain compliance with NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and University rules and regulations.
