About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Executive Director of Audit and Advisory Services, the Student Assistant provides administrative and programmatic support for departmental operations and campuswide continuous improvement initiatives. The position assists with office coordination, communications, research, and data analysis to support strategic projects that enhance efficiency, transparency, and service excellence. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organizational effectiveness, risk management, and process improvement while developing professional, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Be able to work two to three days a week (M-F).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys problem-solving and continuous learning.

  • Inquisitive mindset with a genuine interest in organizational improvement and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with Canva, Power BI, or SharePoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, and recordkeeping.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and promoting meetings, workshops, and special projects.
  • Compile data and prepare summaries, reports, or presentations.
  • Help develop and maintain materials, dashboards, and digital content to communicate key initiatives and outcomes.
  • Support process mapping, survey design, and data analysis for improvement and audit-related projects.
  • Serve as a front-line representative of the department, providing excellent customer service to campus stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
