Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency operating camera equipment and editing video.
  • Attend class sessions as assigned as part of a set schedule

Responsibilities

  • The technical assistant supports Acting for the Camera: Cassavetes & Godard (LTHR 2053) and Scene Study: From Stage to Screen (LTHR 3603) and is responsible for recording, editing, and distributing students& scenes to them.
  • Assembling and setting up the camera, lighting (if necessary), sound, and operating the camera for the scenes; achieving multiple camera set-ups under the constraints of class time.
  • After filming, the assistant must also review the dailies with the professor to select the best takes for editing.
  • The technical assistant must edit the takes with a quick turnaround to screen the scenes and distribute them to the students.
  • After the course is completed, the assistant will create professional-grade acting reels for each student to use in their careers.
