About The Position

The Student Assistant in Dining Services at Cal Poly Pomona is responsible for assisting with various tasks related to food service, customer interaction, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 6 months quick service restaurant experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Enrolled as a Cal Poly Pomona Student.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain punctual attendance.
• Obtain ServeSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and cleaning soiled dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other equipment.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dish room.
• Participating in safety training, including chemical handling.
• Delivering exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries.
• Processing transactions using cash registers and following cash handling policies.
• Maintaining cleanliness in the front cashier area and dining room.
• Carrying dirty dishes from the dining room to the dish room and wiping down tables and chairs.
• Performing regular sanitation of dining room equipment and restocking designated stations.
• Preparing fruits, vegetables, meats, and other food items for chefs and line cooks.
• Sanitizing kitchen surfaces and documenting food items pulled from storage for preparation.
