About The Position

The Student Assistant will support the Office of Career and Professional Development on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026. This position supports the Employer Relations Team in all aspects of employer engagement including playing an integral role in assisting with the planning and implementation of all recruiting events and activities (career fairs, information sessions, on-campus interviews, etc.) recruiting communications, and maintaining employer relationships. The student will also assist the ER team in providing valuable pre-event and event-day assistance for our student populations and employer recruiting events throughout the fall and spring recruiting seasons. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills

Responsibilities

  • Assists with, under the guidance of the Associate Director of Employer Relations, all campus recruitment activities
  • Assists with managing and updating employer prospecting lists
  • Assists the Employer Relations team with relationship management efforts in Handshake, including notes and CRM updates
  • Assists with planning, coordination, and execution of employer events, both virtual and on campus
  • Hosts employers for evening events throughout the semester
  • Assists with college wide recruiting events, including Career Showcase Week and other recruitment initiatives
  • Assists the Recruitment Coordinator with tasks such as preparing recruitment materials and supporting employers during on-campus visits
  • Assists in creating customized employer recruiting materials and outreach support
  • Supports general OCPD operations and collaborate with ER/EL team members as needed
