About The Position

This is an entry-level position under the direct supervision of the Adventure Programs Coordinator and Assistant Director supporting the facilitation of recreation trips and equipment rental program. Availability: 1 position effective March 2018 FOAP : 350010-40411-61400-700

Responsibilities

  • Learn new concepts quickly and relay information to patrons.
  • Work indoors or outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Correctly tie climbing knots and check for safety and usage.
  • Issue, track, and follow up regarding late rental equipment (as needed).
  • Make recommendations and instruct patrons on proper usage of equipment.
  • Work at heights indoors and outdoors.
  • Pass University belay test.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Use sound judgment in decision-making and personal interactions.
  • Accept responsibility for decisions and personal actions.
  • Follow directions and complete assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively in person and in writing.
  • Follow APSU guidelines, policies, procedures, and emergency preparedness.
  • Interact in an effective manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential in this position.
