This position is located in Ottawa County, Oak Harbor, OH. Hours are flexible. This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks. Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values. The 4-H Summer Student Assistant will work administratively under the Area Leader and programmatically with the County 4-H Youth Development Educator. He/she/they will be expected to work cooperatively with local 4-H volunteers and members in the organization and management of the Ottawa County 4-H Youth Development Program. This includes coordinating, facilitating, and managing various 4-H tasks and events. This includes tasks related to, but not limited to Junior Camp, Cloverbud camp, project judging, member recognition, Ottawa County Fair, and other county-wide programming as available. The successful candidate should possess leadership skills; organizational skills; excellent communication skills, both written and oral. In addition, they should be self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds; able to follow instructions; and be proficient in Microsoft programs.
