About The Position

The Student Art Gallery Lab Aide will perform various functions in the Cleve Carney Museum of Art and Student Art Gallery. This position requires the student to keep the gallery open during posted hours of operations, monitor visitor activity to ensure that gallery rules are followed and that the artwork is protected, assist in the set-up and takedown of exhibitions, patch and paint walls and pedestals, and provide professional and courteous communications with gallery visitors. Additional duties may be requested as needed.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above (waived for first semester students).
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Must be punctual, detail-oriented, and willing to take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Keep the gallery open during posted hours of operations.
• Monitor visitor activity in the gallery to ensure that gallery rules are followed and that the artwork is protected.
• Assist in set-up and takedown of exhibitions.
• Patching and painting walls and pedestals.
• Provide professional and courteous communications with gallery visitors.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Benefits

• Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.
