Position Summary: Power Systems is the Rolls-Royce business which provides world-class power solutions and complete life-cycle support under our product and solution brand mtu. Requirements

  • High School student entering the 11th grade with a minimum C grade point average
  • Above average high school attendance record
  • Clean disciplinary record

Nice To Haves

  • Basic oral and written communication skills
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning devices
  • Ability to learn how to interpret control plans, blue prints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts, documents regarding engine assembly and testing and quality requirements (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)
  • Ability to learn basic troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Interest in working in manufacturing environment during apprenticeship period
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards

Responsibilities

  • Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists, and verify parts clearances
  • Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies
  • Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies
  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components
  • Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes
  • Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area
  • Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
