The Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) group is seeking a student intern to contribute to cybersecurity efforts focused on embedded devices. This role involves applying theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in cybersecurity, working collaboratively in small teams to identify vulnerabilities and develop security solutions. The position offers an opportunity for hands-on experience in software development and testing within a dynamic environment.

  • Work independently on small teams to investigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities and mitigations.
  • Contribute to technical reports, explaining procedures followed, and results found.
  • Develop software and test scripts that aid in penetration testing, verification, and validation testing phases.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers on software design and code reviews.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Junior or Senior level student with educational background and experience in programming and scripting (e.g., Python, C, C++), and software development life-cycle (design, develop, implementation, debug, and testing).
  • Experience or interest in learning software version control systems such as Git, computer architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well both individually and as a member of a project team.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
