About the position

The primary purpose and function of the Student Ambassador is to serve as a liaison between their university (students and faculty) and an assigned Banfield Medical Director. The Student Ambassador will represent Banfield Pet Hospital in a sincere, professional manner and proactively promote awareness of Banfield's mission and vision among peers. They will assist the Student Programs team and assigned Banfield Medical Director in arranging campus visits at the Ambassador's school by distributing materials, posting announcements, reserving meeting rooms, arranging catering, preparing giveaways, and managing all other event details. The role also involves participating in presentations on campus and providing follow-up with students and Banfield, distributing promotional materials, and informing the Student Program team of student activities that may serve as a venue for Banfield participation. Additionally, the Student Ambassador will attend Banfield sponsored conferences and educational meetings when appropriate and maintain open communication with the Student Programs team and assigned Banfield Medical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Banfield Pet Hospital in a sincere, professional manner.
  • Proactively promote awareness of Banfield's mission and vision among peers.
  • Assist the Student Programs team and assigned Banfield Medical Director in arranging campus visits.
  • Distribute materials, post announcements, reserve meeting rooms, arrange catering, and prepare giveaways for events.
  • Participate in presentations on campus and provide follow-up with students and Banfield.
  • Distribute Banfield flyers, posters, e-flyers, and other collateral to faculty and students.
  • Inform the Student Program team of student activities and functions for potential Banfield participation.
  • Attend Banfield sponsored conferences and educational meetings.
  • Maintain open communication with the Student Programs team and assigned Banfield Medical Director.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a student in a veterinary medicine program at a School or College of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies such as action orientation, integrity, and trust.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in fluent English.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Client service skills to ensure attentive and courteous service.
  • Basic mathematical ability and comfort with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning or coordination.
  • Familiarity with Banfield Pet Hospital's mission and values.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
