This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking skilled Structures Assembly and Drilling Technicians dedicated to enabling safe and efficient human spaceflight. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in structural integration, assembly, and drilling to build and maintain critical aerospace systems for advanced lunar products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, operate specialized tools, and champion quality and process improvements in a fast-paced production environment. This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams and shifts. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified. Position Specific Details: Shifts: A | Mon–Thu (5:00am–3:30pm) Location: Space Coast, FL Relocation: Available Potential travel: Up to 10% for training and project support (where applicable) Team Focus & Domain Expertise: Structural Assembly | Specializing in precision assembly, drilling, and fastening of complex aerospace structures for advanced lunar vehicles. Work involves both metallic (aluminum, titanium, Inconel) and composite components, requiring a deep understanding of blueprint reading, quality hole tolerances, and aerospace assembly best practices.

Requirements

  • Relevant Manufacturing & Structural Technician experience: (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ years Level II Technician, 5+ years Level III Technician, 8+ years Level IV Technician)
  • Proficiency interpreting structural engineering blueprints and specifications
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of precision and power tools: torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, drills (hand, PFD, track, Jiffy/E-Tech), depth gauges, laser tracker, optical measuring tools
  • Understanding of drill speeds, feeds, jigs, hand placement, and maintaining tight hole tolerances and angularity
  • Familiarity with structural adhesives, sealants, paints, primers, and composite layup processes
  • Experience preparing and assembling large aerospace components, including surface prep, sealing, and repairs
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office)
  • Must be able to work assigned shift and overtime as required, with flexibility for future shift changes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and a drive for process optimization.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Maintain general cleanliness, apply “clean as you go” techniques in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities within unique cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading teams through complex integration tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Configure production work areas with necessary tooling and equipment for efficient and quality structural assembly workflows.
  • Precisely assemble, drill, and fasten metallic and composite aerospace structures in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical instruments.
  • Fabricate and manage both flight and non-flight hardware, applying sealants, adhesives, primers, paints, and performing composite layup or repairs as needed.
  • Drive the seamless transition from engineering development to high-rate production, proactively troubleshooting and conducting basic equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, integration, and quality teams to ensure first-time-right execution of complex builds.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for workflow efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in line with 5S/cleanroom standards.
