About The Position

Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Structures/Machinist Technician. Duties include producing parts, components and final assemblies using metal fabrication, modification, checkout, re-work, quality testing, and assembly utilizing detailed work instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts or manufacturing test development or diagnostic equipment. This position is located in Orlando, FL.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 4 years of prior manufacturing experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior aerospace industry experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Requires a specialized level of knowledge in the assembly of flight hardware.
Good time management and multi-tasking skills.
Must have good oral and written communications skills.
Moderate computer skills desired

Responsibilities

Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Operation of various machinery and shop equipment.
Fabrication and assembly of piece parts into completed sub-assemblies using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Make shop calculations.
Works with management and supervision to meet critical deadlines.
Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify and/or escalate out of control processes and production escapes.
Coordinate with maintenance, supervision and/or engineers in the set-up and calibration of equipment.
Participate in preventative maintenance activities.
Clean machines, equipment, and work area according to Standard Operating Procedures
Other duties as assigned.
