About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking a Structures / IMERS Technician to support a fast-paced feeder line assembling basic satellite structural components. This role focuses on straightforward hands-on work and is ideal for individuals with strong energy, a positive attitude, and the desire to develop technical skills in aerospace manufacturing. The position involves working with carbon fiber parts, riveting, and bonding operations at designated joints. While prior experience is helpful, this role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and willingness to learn over deep technical expertise. This position will work 4 overnight shifts Monday through Thursday for 10-hour shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior manufacturing, assembly, or hands-on labor experience preferred
  • Aerospace experience is not required; training will be provided
  • High energy and strong work ethic

  • Reliable, punctual, and coachable
  • Comfortable working in a repetitive, fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with carbon fiber or composite materials

  • Basic mechanical hand tools
  • Riveting tools and bonding equipment
  • Digital or paper-based work instructions and travelers
  • MES or production tracking systems (experience preferred, not required)
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform basic manual assembly

Responsibilities

  • Assemble simple structural components in a feeder-line production environment
  • Handle and install carbon fiber parts according to work instructions
  • Perform riveting operations using basic hand and pneumatic tools
  • Apply bonding materials at specified joints per process documentation
  • Maintain production pace while ensuring quality and consistency
  • Follow standard work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements
  • Support team leads by maintaining workflow and material readiness
  • Identify obvious build issues and communicate them to leads
  • Maintain cleanroom discipline, FOD control, and proper tool usage
