New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space. In this position you will be a Structures Design Engineer working on the Crew Capsule of the New Shepard rocket. New Shepard is committed to increasing our launch rate to send more customers and payloads to space. We are keenly focused on building safe and reliable hardware that meets our schedule, budget, and mission objectives. There is nothing more exciting than the countdown to a launch and celebrating a successful flight. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Crew Capsule structure. This includes the design, analysis, testing, operation, and maintenance of Crew Capsule structural components. You will facilitate part fabrication and vehicle assembly by reviewing work orders, coordinating with suppliers, and guiding Integration Engineers / technicians. You will support flight operations and vehicle maintenance through post-flight data reviews and inspections. You will also identify and implement engineering changes to improve the vehicle. Specific to this role, we are seeking an engineer that has solid design experience with aerospace composite structure and the ability to provide technical guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.
