Fitch Ratings is seeking a Director to join the Alternative Structured Credit group in our Chicago office. The individual will focus on new transaction proposals that incorporate securitization principals of various types of rated note feeders, synthetic risk transfers, structured credit loan facilities, CLO lite structures, and other private credit transactions backed by debt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, accounting, economics, engineering, etc.)
  • At least eight years of experience, preferably in the structured finance industry, with a proven track record of leadership
  • Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to listen and incorporate others’ perspectives in a consensus-driven setting
  • High level of personal responsibility, initiative, and self-management
  • Deep interest in capital markets and structured finance
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages is a plus
  • Exceptional ability to convey complex subjects clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis of new and existing ratings using proprietary models
  • Assess transaction documents with a focus on identifying and mitigating credit risks
  • Prepare, present, and defend rating conclusions to senior credit committees
  • Oversee the drafting of rating action commentary reports to clearly communicate rating decisions to market participants
  • Drive the development and publication of recurring and special research publications
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and development
