About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for a full-time Structured Cabling Technology Apprentice to join our team within the Technology and Data Comm Division. This position is the start of a promising career in our technology department. The Structured Cabling Technology Apprentice position is a position that has the basic experience, or comprehension of basic structured cabling principles. This position will report directly to an area Foreman or Project Foreman to produce on time, within budget, project delivery while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problem assessment and problem-solving.
  • Possess high levels of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm, and be eager to learn.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Experience working in a crew setting.
  • Have own tools per tool list.
  • Exposure to fiber optic systems.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Effective time management skills.
  • Understand safety principles.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and take direction from superiors.
  • Ability to learn how to pull cable effectively.
  • Help execute the project within the confines of the company goals and vision in order to exceed client expectations.
  • Ability to learn to read basic construction drawings and understand the project scope of work.
  • Learn how to terminate and test copper network cabling.
  • Demonstrate quality craftsmanship and always exude customer service.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal-oriented mindset for continual growth, with a “Can-Do” positive attitude.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
