About The Position
The Structured Cabling Technician plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems that support telecommunications and data networks across various commercial and industrial environments. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling standards and testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Certification from recognized industry organizations such as BICSI Installer or Fiber Optic Association (FOA).
- Experience with network equipment installation and basic network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA regulations related to cabling work.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces safely.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in team environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems in accordance with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA-568 and BICSI guidelines.
- Perform site surveys and assess existing cabling infrastructure to plan and execute new installations or upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and repair cabling faults to maintain optimal network performance and minimize downtime.
- Document all cabling layouts, test results, and maintenance activities accurately for client records and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure cabling installations align with project timelines, specifications, and safety regulations.
