Requirements

• Ability to verify the position of metal components using various measuring tools.
• Experience with conventional tools for welding preparation and cleanup.
• Knowledge of weld acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Pass the pre-employment welding examination.
• Apply technical knowledge and practical welding skills.
• Assist in component installation, fit-up, and alignment.
• Familiarize with equipment required for Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
• Verify the position of metal components in assembly using tools like straight edge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
• Utilize conventional tools for preparation of welding and clean up, such as grinders, buffers, files, and chipping hammers.
• Tack-weld components to secure them in position for welding.
• Familiarize with weld acceptance criteria and perform front line examination of the welding work performed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
