We are seeking a Structural Test Engineer to join the Structural Test Lab on the LM Space campus in Sunnyvale, CA. You will be part of an exciting team that helps make spacecraft flight a reality. The selected engineer will perform structural tests on components, assemblies, and flight hardware. Summary of Key Duties for this position: Work with internal/external customers on test solutions that implement technical, schedule, and cost constraints that meet their contractual needs and requirements. Coordinate subsystem and/or system testing activities with the programs and other organizations which include test planning, designing the test setup, stress analysis of test fixtures, overseeing test hardware fabrication, authoring test procedures, conducting tests, analyzing test results, and preparing comprehensive reports which verify and validate system performance. Testing ranges from small to large and everything in between using a wide array of structural testing techniques and configurations.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent experience or education
  • Experience in Aerospace testing practices
  • Structural Stress Analysis
  • Design of Steel Structures
  • CAD and FEM Modeling

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Test Engineer/Test Conductor
  • Writing Test Procedures
  • Reading Drawings and Understanding Machining Practices
