About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Engineering Support Technician to support assembly, maintenance, and operational activities. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and hands-on experience working with large assemblies. The Engineering Support Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across production and maintenance operations. Shift 1- Days: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (4x10s) Relocation Pkg From El Paso, TX to Midland, TX includes: Lodging $5000 for the 3 months Midland Stipend $1050 per month

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience as a technician in a mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or equipment maintenance environment
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings
  • Experience working with bolted assemblies and fastening methods
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
  • Ability to work in varying environments, including industrial settings
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with crane operations and rigging
  • Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with standard tools, hardware, and fastening systems

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair technical issues related to equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Read and interpret work instructions, technical manuals, and engineering drawings
  • Assemble and disassemble large-scale mechanical assemblies in accordance with specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment functionality and reliability
  • Install, configure, and test new equipment and systems
  • Document work performed, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions
  • Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical issues in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users as needed
