About The Position

Nucor is seeking a highly detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailer / BIM Modeler to join our team in El Paso, IL. In this role, you will create detailed 3D models and construction-ready drawings for custom metal building systems. You will utilize advanced 3D drafting software to model structural steel framing, wall systems, roof systems, and associated trim, ensuring all parts fit seamlessly together. Your work will be critical in bringing custom structures to life, from the shop floor to the job site. Requirements

• Proficiency with 3D BIM software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
• An Associate degree or two-year vocational certification in drafting, architecture, engineering tech, or construction management, or 4+ years of structural or metal building detailing experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of metal building construction practices.
• Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate design intent through written, verbal, and visual formats.
• Hands-on experience with BIM workflows and practical application of modeling technology.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D Models of Custom Building Systems using advanced 3D drafting software.
• Produce Erection Drawings & Material Lists to ensure field crews have the necessary resources for efficient builds.
• Develop Shop Drawings for Fabrication to assist in the precise construction of structural components.
• Review & Check Detailing Work to maintain high accuracy and design integrity.
