As our Structural Rebar Detailing & Project Coordination Engineer, you translate engineering intent into precise shop drawings and keep complex projects moving—materials sourced, costs aligned, logistics clear, and stakeholders informed. A day in this role Your morning starts by opening AutoCAD to finalize rebar shop drawings, checking for code compliance and constructability. By midday, you’ve aligned timelines with the Department Manager, reviewed vendor quotes, and updated the project schedule. Later, you may visit a jobsite to verify conditions or jump on a coordination call to close out technical questions. Throughout, you’re documenting decisions, maintaining records, and ensuring the right materials are ordered at the right time.

Requirements

  • BS degree (engineering or related field).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Skill in diagnosing complex, multi-technology technical problems and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading cross-functional efforts; strong leadership and influence.
  • Track record of coaching and motivating teams for high performance and engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong team collaborator.
  • Fluency reading and translating Architectural, Structural, and Process drawings.
  • Independent decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Occasional travel (<10%).

Responsibilities

  • Develop structural shop drawings and detailed rebar layouts that conform to design specifications, applicable codes, and product standards.
  • Conduct site visits to observe field conditions, validate constraints, and resolve issues.
  • Prepare and review plans, drawings, and submittal packages.
  • Assist with material takeoffs and cost estimates.
  • Support the design process on civil/structural engineering scopes as needed.
  • Produce precise drafting deliverables and maintain organized engineering records and files.
  • Create and distribute project descriptions, milestones, and timelines.
  • Analyze product design and customer requirements to define project specifications and present costs.
  • Review contractor bids, negotiate with vendors, and coordinate technical aspects through meetings and active communication.
