About The Position

Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a Structural Quality Control Inspector III to join our team. The Structural Quality Control Inspector III reports to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for performing visual and dimensional quality inspections to ensure consistent quality of production with a primary emphasis on safety.  Ensure adherence to codes, NDE and welding and inspection processes. This position will support day-to-day Quality Control demands and select projects. What Does a Week in the Life of the Structural Quality Control Inspector II Look Like? Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop. Work closely with production personnel and supervisors to correct quality deficiencies. Reporting to Supervisor of any quality issues, tracking of project requirements, and documentation of work performed will be necessary as a daily task. Confirm compliance to the Quality Management System Procedures and work instructions. Support and ensure compliance with all OSHA and HSE policies throughout the fabrication divisions. Read and comprehend project specifications and drawings. Perform visual and dimensional inspections on product line as applicable. Perform welder audits. Ensure compliance to codes, standards and customer specifications. Maintain weld maps & material traceability records. Interface with shop personnel. Keep QC Lead Inspector/QC Manager advised of approaching inspection witness and hold points. Ensure timely inspections are performed. Provide project status reports. Attend project meetings as required. Responsible for determining component acceptance or rejection. Ensure stoppage of nonconforming work and unsafe work practices. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years documented quality relevant experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at a minimum.
  • Ability to be qualified per in-house QMS Welder Inspector Program.
  • General knowledge of various codes, NDE techniques, welding, fabrication and inspection processes.
  • Must be knowledgeable of various fabrication/construction codes and standards, as well as material types and usage.
  • Must be able to comprehend technical information both verbal and written.
  • Must have basic computer literacy.
  • Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Inspector II may be cross trained in multiple shop areas (fit, weld, clean, compression, and piping).
  • Must have good communication skills to perform necessary functions of the job duties.
  • Must have clear verbal and writing skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned.

Responsibilities
