The Structural Project Manager position at TrueNorth Steel is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the management of structural steel and miscellaneous metal scopes on both contract and negotiated construction projects. This position requires a proactive leader who can provide direction during all phases of a project, including preconstruction, detailing, fabrication, delivery, installation, and project close-out. The successful candidate will manage medium to large projects that carry moderate to high risks, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Project Manager will review construction contract documents to ensure that all requirements are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders. They will identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, establishing means and methods, project sequences, and specific milestone dates through effective communication with customers, subcontractors, and other project partners. Maintaining project schedules and communicating timelines with drafting, purchasing, production, logistics, and subcontractors is essential to ensure that projects stay on track. Continuous communication with project customers, engineers, architects, erectors, and subcontractors is a key responsibility, which will be maintained through various forms of communication, including in-person visits and virtual meetings. The Project Manager will also review and estimate potential requests for information (PRs), additional service inquiries (ASIs), and requests for information (RFIs) for their cost and schedule-related impacts, managing change order requests as necessary. Financial oversight is another critical aspect of this role, as the Project Manager will review, maintain, and analyze project financials on a monthly basis, develop financial projections, approve invoices, and provide monthly billings for projects. They will work closely with key personnel to ensure compliance with contract documents and onboard project-specific vendor and subcontractor resources through purchase orders and subcontract issuance. The ideal candidate will enhance client relationships through prompt and meaningful communication, understand opportunities to cross-sell products for other business units within TrueNorth Steel, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to each project. The position requires a commitment to dependable attendance and may involve approximately 25% job site travel as needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
