About The Position

The Structural Material Handler ships finished goods in good condition according to SOP.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Licensed forklift truck operator
  • Experience with inventory/shipping a plus
  • Good computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to read and write English and use basic math
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
  • Ability to complete assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual Acuity: ​​The worker is required to: have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • ​​The worker is required to: have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
  • ​​The worker is required to: have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to: both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Banding and strapping product to skids making sure it secure.
  • Loading and unloading materials onto and off trucks
  • Operating industrial trucks, sit down forklift, stand up forklift, and cranes.
  • Building skids/ crates (Some Carpentry Required)
  • Banding I beam and columns in bundles and loading them on flatbed trailers.
  • Some computer skills are required when staging products for shipping and loading.
  • Some outside work unloading pallet trucks and organizing pallet area.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Employees are responsible for complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
