About The Position

GAI is seeking an engineering student Structural intern to join our Power & Industry team, to gain relevant skills and experience in Structural Engineering working on various power and industrial engineering projects. This is a temporary full-time position at 40 hours a week and a 3-month duration. Additional schedules will be considered.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a structural or civil engineering program at a Junior or Senior level.
• Must have good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and other business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members.
• Required mathematical skills are commensurate with the technical or engineering discipline practiced.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to learn new programs and skills in Structural Engineering.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of basic computer systems and software packages.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery.
• Preparation of Specification Packages.
• Preparation of Structural Drawings using AutoCAD.
• Preparation of structural design and analysis calculations and models.
• Preparation of Structural design and analysis written reports.
• Coordination and development of client proposals and estimates.
• Apply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power & Industry Projects.
