The purpose of this job is to provide supervision and coordination of workers (both skilled and unskilled) engaged in various types of construction projects, such as highway structures, clearing right-of-way, pile driving, preparing subgrade, laying road surface, installing curb, installing underground utilities, traffic control, concrete paving of streets and related lime and dirt work, etc. The goals of this position include scheduling work to meet timetables in a safe manner, per the plans and specifications, and to meet estimated cost. This position may be required to maintain a good working relationship with inspectors, developers, vendors, subcontractors, etc.

Requirements

• 8 years of Journeyman level experience.
• NCCER Preferred Structural certification.
• Valid State ID.

Responsibilities

• Manage large public construction projects such as communication towers, bridges, highways, and airports.
• Lead a team that takes on construction projects of importance to the public.
• Supervise crews of workers to ensure that projects proceed smoothly.
• Coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites.
• Monitor team members to ensure that operations flow.
• Hire people and schedule their work hours on the construction site.
• Communicate instructions and carry out thorough inspections on works.
• Work side-by-side with workers to demonstrate techniques or to help.
• Maintain team morale to increase productivity.
• Resolve issues between workers and handle payroll concerns.
