About The Position
The Structural Fitter is responsible for fitting, cutting, and tack welding structural materials according to blueprints and specifications to support fabrication and assembly operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of structural fitting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic welding knowledge
- Ability to work with a torch and bevel machining
- Strong math skills for measurements and layout work
- Knowledge of structural shapes, sizes, and materials
- Experience working with torches and beveling equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
Responsibilities
- Prepare welding joints for fabrication
- Cut, fit, and tack materials according to drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Complete inspection reports and submit requests as needed
- Use conventional measuring tools and instruments accurately
- Perform finish grinding using manual and power tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety procedures
- Support production needs and complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
