Night Shift Structural Fitter

Job Summary: The Fitter is responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling metal components used in structural fabrication. This includes working with built-up members, structural I-beams, cold-formed (thin gauge) material, and plate steel. The Fitter will use hand tools and welding equipment while following shop drawings and specifications. This role supports the overall manufacturing process by helping ensure components are accurately prepared and assembled in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in metal fabrication, fitting, or welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine work scope and required materials.
- Align components using jacks, turnbuckles, overhead cranes. pines, wedges, and hammers.
- Measure and mark materials according to blueprint requirements.
- Identify and stage parts in the correct sequence for assembly.
- Cut and clean materials using Oxy Fuel or Plasma torches as required.
- Tack weld components together when needed for assembly.
- Remove rust, mills scale, and debris using grinders, wire wheels, or brushes to prepare surfaces.
- Follow safety guidelines, company procedures, and applicable regulations at all times.
- Meet or exceed daily production targets.
