About The Position

The Structural Engineering Supervisor or Manager at Sunflower Electric Power Corporation will lead the Transmission Engineering department, providing guidance on engineering and structural design efforts for transmission lines. This role involves overseeing the transmission engineering group, supporting the development and implementation of new projects, and ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution, preferably in civil, structural, or electrical engineering.
• Eight years of practical utility and/or utility engineering consultant experience for Supervisor role; ten years for Manager role.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• At least three years of experience in progressive leadership roles within an engineering environment for Manager role.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the development and implementation of new transmission line projects.
• Provide technical and professional leadership and mentoring to the engineering team.
• Supervise the daily activities of the transmission engineering group and structural design efforts related to transmission lines.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and outside agencies to ensure project success.
• Manage the development of procedures to support strategic plans and objectives of Sunflower Electric Power Corporation.
