About The Position

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team to provide engineering, design, and consulting services in support of our Southeast Water/Wastewater/Water Resource clients. The Jacobs team is the largest water practice in the Atlanta market, comprising 125 determined, high-performing individuals working with most major metro-area clients on a vast array of projects. This is an opportunity to work on the largest, most complex water projects in the Georgia market as part of ENR's #1 Design Firm. This role is based in our Atlanta, GA office and will work closely with both our local team and Jacobs staff throughout the company. Jacobs is home to many of the top subject matter experts (SMEs) in their fields, and the successful candidate will have a chance to learn and grow from these experts. This role will involve working both independently and as part of larger multi-discipline teams to develop design concepts, prepare preliminary and detailed designs, support services during construction, and conduct on-site inspections and observations. This position offers a self-motivated professional the opportunity to grow professionally and personally within our diverse, fast-paced office. The successful candidate will provide planning, consulting, design, and construction services for various municipal, federal, industrial, and other clients over various fields including water, wastewater, and water resources. They will prepare detailed structural design drawings and construction specifications, coordinate structural project work with architectural, civil, process, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff, and conduct condition assessments for existing buildings and structures. Additionally, they will participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects, utilizing bespoke structural analysis software for structural designs while applying a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their applications. The role also involves working with senior SMEs in Atlanta and offices throughout the United States, providing a collaborative environment for professional development and knowledge sharing.
