Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school.
• Experience leading a team of multiple individuals.
• P.E. and/or S.E. Registration or ability to obtain such within two years of accepting this position.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of metal building industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering Team: Oversee daily activities, ensuring engineering projects are completed on time with high quality.
• Team Development and Mentoring: Actively engage in the professional growth of team members through training, mentoring, and thorough performance evaluations. Make recommendations for compensation adjustments.
• Policy and Procedure Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive engineering policies, procedures, and practices that uphold our commitment to quality and safety.
• Budget and Staffing Management: Manage staffing needs and budgetary allocations for supplies and equipment. Oversee wage planning to ensure fairness and motivation within the team.
• Recruitment and Hiring: Coordinate with HR to execute recruitment strategies, conduct interviews, and make informed hiring decisions that contribute to the strength and diversity of the team.
• Strategic Planning: Forecast and plan for the Engineering Group's future, ensuring readiness and adaptability to meet evolving market demands.
• Benchmarking and Improvement: Engage with other divisions within Nucor to benchmark and adopt best practices, enhancing operational results and customer satisfaction.
