Wilson & Company is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Structural Engineering Manager to join our team in our San Bernardino office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a structural engineering professional to lead daily operations for railway structural engineering personnel and projects while fostering interoffice collaboration. The selected candidate will play a key role in driving business growth, ensuring project excellence, and contributing to the success of our expanding rail division.

  • Actively manage and oversee rail structural engineering projects, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.
  • Support staff through these projects technically.
  • Support and contribute to the sales goals of the railway structures team.
  • Maintain team utilization, monitor project financials, and manage work-in-progress (WIP) and accounts receivable (AR) within company guidelines.
  • Monitor and update the project pursuit pipeline and operational labor backlog.
  • Perform and ensure compliance with Wilson & Company's policies, including goal setting and performance reviews, quality control and quality assurance standards, contract review processes, and project planning and implementation.
  • Mentor, train, recruit, and retain top engineering talent in alignment with staffing plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with other offices and practices within the company.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with firm-wide and railroad safety policies.
  • Minimum of 6 plus years of experience in structural design, engineering, and construction.
  • Experience with Class I Railroads is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree with master's preferred in Civil Engineering, emphasis in structural engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, financial oversight, and business development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to quality management and implementation of industry best practices.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
