About The Position

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking an Structural Engineering Intern to support water, wastewater treatment, flood protection, and associated projects in our Chelmsford, MA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out structural engineering tasks associated with the technical design and layout of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP, and/or Revit. Work under the mentorship and supervision of a senior engineer.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college program working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Must have completed 2 years of study.

Nice To Haves

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and commercially available engineering analysis packages.
  • Demonstrated Experience in communication, teamwork, problem solving, and writing skills.
  • Coursework in Engineering Mathematics, Statics, and Engineering Design.

Responsibilities
